REAL OUTCOMES

What parents & students are saying

"Rhodri has a wonderfully warm and reassuring way of teaching that makes GCSE English feel genuinely accessible. His explanations are clear, engaging and pitched perfectly to build both understanding and confidence. Sessions feel personal, encouraging and well-paced. You can really see the difference in both progress and self-belief."

Liz Doughty
Parent of pupil and Deputy Headteacher

"Our son found your teaching consistently engaging and inspiring. The care, patience, and enthusiasm you brought to every one of his lessons made such difference in his confidence and love of learning. We would highly recommend Mr Lewis!"

Gabby
Parent of former pupil

"Rhodri Lewis is an outstanding educator and mentor, who I cannot recommend highly enough. Mr Lewis was my son's form tutor for two years and taught him English and Drama. In the classroom he created an environment of exploration and fascination, encouraging pupils to question and discuss the material they were studying to develop and share an informed opinion. Mr Lewis has an ability to make complex topics easier to understand, motivating his pupils to want to learn more. He fostered my son's love of English Literature and Drama with his engaging, innovative teaching style, coupled with his own passion for both subjects. In addition, Mr Lewis provided exceptional leadership and pastoral care. He was a superb role model, providing continued guidance and building confidence in his pupils."

Dr Mandy Jones. PhD, MSc, MCSP, S
Parent of former pupil

"So, what can I say about the amazing Mr Lewis? My eldest daughter was privileged enough to have this man in her life as her teacher! Not only did he teach her to love words but taught her to write beautifully! Naiya is now pursing this love in her life and couldn’t be happier! Mr Lewis got Naiya through some of her toughest years and was always there like a rock! As a family we cannot thank him enough for all the help and support he has offered us all!"

Nikita Joshi
Parent of former pupil

"You really did care about doing your best to help all students to achieve the best possible grade they could and I've never forgotten that. You also made lessons a good and fun thing to attend."

Jeevan
Former Pupil

"As an ex-student of Mr. Lewis, he was not only THE best teacher but a mentor for everyone. The countless hours spent helping me with my English GCSE exams and helping me deal with the stress of school life in general, during breaks and lunches, will never be forgotten (and it hasn’t 8 years later)! Mr. Lewis had the power to take teaching and make it fun for everyone. An absolute World class teacher!"

Tia
Former Pupil

"Mr Lewis taught me for my GCSE English, he is an enthusiastic, positive and passionate teacher. He always took the time to make sure you not only understood the subject but enjoyed it as well. He enabled me to feel confident in my understanding of English as a subject, to make sure I passed my exams."

Kaylen
Former Pupil

"He was a very supportive and easy-going teacher! If I struggled to understand something he adapted his approach to a way I was able to make sense of! Boosted my grade prediction from a Grade 2 to actually achieving a Grade 5 in my GCSE English Literature and Language! Great sense of humour and no judgment; just wants the best for his students!"

Millie
Former Pupil

"Mr Lewis was honestly one of the most amazing teachers I’ve ever had. During my GCSEs, he supported me so much, especially when the pressure felt overwhelming, and he always believed in me even when I doubted myself. He had this incredible way of making the texts come alive, and I’ll never forget his dramatic impression of Arthur Birling from An Inspector Calls. I can still hear his voice saying the lines now. It made the lessons unforgettable and actually made me enjoy analysing all the plays and texts we had to study for. I owe my good English grade to him. But more than just helping me academically, he really impacted my life during that time. He gave me confidence in my own abilities, pushed me to aim higher than I thought I could, and helped me handle the stress of exams with a stronger mindset. Even now, I still find myself talking about my old English teacher and the impact he had on me, because the confidence and skills he helped me build have stayed with me long after GCSEs finished."

Holly-Marie
Former Pupil

"Not only did Rhodri completely transform the way I think about language and literature, but every lesson was wholly inspiring and engaging. His passion, patience, and talent for adapting to the strengths and weaknesses of each student made him not just a great teacher but a truly invaluable mentor. He guided me to achieve the highest possible grades, leading me to study English literature at a Russel Group university."

Alex
Former Pupil

"Mr Lewis’ lessons were always so engaging, and he always found a way to make even the dull subjects interesting. He always encouraged me to believe in myself and my abilities and helped give me the confidence to pursue my goals."

Rebecca
Former Pupil

"Between 2017-2019 I had the honour of being one of Mr Lewis’ English students. Each lesson with him shaped my future and if it wasn’t for his humour, compassion and his love for teaching I wouldn’t be the person I am today. I still recall the hilarious stories of his younger years and him always encouraging us to live our life and experience the world. If my daughter grows up to have a teacher half as brilliant as Mr Lewis, then I know she will experience the same kindness that left such a lasting mark on my life."

Izzy
Former Pupil

"Mr Lewis is a great teacher who takes a genuine interest in his students and cultivates a productive, enjoyable learning environment. He taught me not only the meaning and impact of words, but also how to use my words and actions to portray myself as the person I want to be."

Nathan
Former Pupil

"Mr Lewis was an inspirational teacher always showing his passion for teaching and constantly encouraged me to achieve more than I thought possible. His dedication helped me grow so much confidence and led me to choose English as an A level subject after helping me so much with my GCSE’s."

Mia
Former Pupil

"Rhodri is a truly gifted teacher who has had a lasting impact on me, both academically and pastorally. Not only did he set the stage for me to achieve 2 A* English grades at GCSE but was also an incredible mentor at one of the most personally difficult times of my life. He advocated for me at a time when I was failing almost every subject and had extremely low self-esteem. Nearly 15 years and a medical degree later, I still look back on that time with immense gratitude as I wouldn’t be the person I am today without his influence."

Dr Karim Krishna
Former pupil

"I was a student of Rhodri Lewis’ from 2010 to 2013 at Kings’ College Junior School. During this time he taught me both English and Drama, as well as being my form tutor for two of those years. Mr Lewis’ classes were always engaging and exciting to be in. He fostered a learning environment where we students were encouraged to fully explore the class material and work collaboratively to analyse and discuss it. Mr Lewis gave us the confidence to ask questions when we needed more clarity or something explained in a different way, as well as challenging us to think critically and form our own opinions. His approach to teaching is very clearly inspired by his passion for his subjects but also his drive to see students flourish and enjoy the process of learning. In his role as my form tutor, Mr Lewis consistently provided me with exceptional pastoral support and guidance. Being a student in Rhodri Lewis’ class was a real joy and I look back on his lessons most fondly. I cannot recommend him strongly enough as a leader, mentor and educator."

Sam Jones
Former pupil

"I had Mr Lewis as a form teacher during my final years of primary school. Mr Lewis supported me unfailingly and helped me through some really tough times during those years. He was kind, friendly, and I learnt so much from him. I still remember the little extracts of literature he used to read us in form. He had such a huge impact on my life (like studying Literature at an MA level). I am forever grateful for his support, and I am certain he will provide the same for many more students in the future!"

Naiya Josh
Former pupil

"I worked alongside Rhodri Lewis at a large secondary school for four years where we were both English teachers and Pastoral Heads working with students in Years 7 to 13. Rhodri is a warm, supportive, engaging and charismatic teacher. His teaching style is positive, encouraging and approachable. In short, Rhodri is a terrific teacher (and tutor) and I would be happy to recommend him without hesitation."
